Contemporary Flintlock Jaeger Rifle after Georg Keiser of Vienna
John B. Derrick (American, b.1936)

.50 caliber. 31" octagonal barrel. SN: NSN. Browned metal finish. Figured Turkish walnut stock has carved rococo scroll to straight grip, forearm, and butt. Flintlock rifle with two leaf folding notch rear sight and brass blade front sight. Item features double set triggers, double sling mounts, and a patchbox to right side of butt. Stock is fitted with heavy wax-cast fittings showing details that include hunters on horseback, intertwined beasts, and scrollwork. Includes bone tipped ramrod.
