Comprised of twelve gores laid on a hollow pasteboard sphere, bearing a cartouche inscribed 'Position des Etoiles Fixes pour l'Annee 1780 Par le St. Fortin, Ingen. Geogr. a Paris'; with meridian and horizon rings and four quadrant supports, the stand now lacking.
