Typed Letter Signed. Edison, Tho[ma]s A. Orange, N.J., Jan. 23, 1922. 1 p., 4to; minor discoloration outside of body of letter, minor creasing along folds. To James D. Law, responding to Law's theory of Edison's Scotch paternal ancestry,... "My Mother was pure Scotch, but my Father's people came from Holland... I guess I am Scotch from the navel to the top of my head and the other half Dutch. I am a great admirer of Ingersoll and Thomas Paine." Attractive, with dark signature, on Edison Laboratory letterhead, also with addressed envelope.
