Lot Description

Tiffany & Co. sterling silver presentation cup date mark for 1898-1902

Of baluster form with a leaf cast band to the waist and open loop handles, inscribed 'Presented to/ Captain J. Nelson Borland/ by the members of Company K. 22nd Regiment/ N.G. N.Y./ as a token of their affectionate regard and esteem'; the reverse inscribed 'Camp Black/ May 23rd 1898'. Note: Camp Black was established in 1898 on the Hempstead Plains, Naussau County, New York, to train recruits for the Spanish American War.
