Athabaskan Foot Warmer

Included is a note (copy) from the desk of Mme. A. Villeneuve of Quebec with descriptive text:
Foot warmer made from buffalo skin inside, seal skin, and caribou appliques outside. Coming from Col. Joplin's personal collection. Col. Joplin was doing northern expeditions in Canada in the last half of the 19th century. Col. Joplin retired in-[illegible] Quebec and the foot warmer was bought by Lyle Elder from the family after Mr. Joplin's death.
