A group of 8 engraved aquatints, most depicting 19th-century Chicago, comprising:


1) Michigan Avenue at the Foot of Madison Street Chicago with a View of the Illinois Central Station in the Year 1864. 1926. "Trial Proof" at lower left.

2) Michigan Avenue Looking North 1863 with a View of Michigan Terrace. 1929.

3) The First House Built in Chicago as it Appears in 1827 Residence of John Kinzie 1804-1828. 1930. "Trial Proof" at lower left.

4) Michigan Avenue Chicago in the Year 1861. 1930.

5) Rush Street Bridge Chicago in the Year 1861. 1930.

6) Bird's Eye View of Lake Shore Drive Chicago 1889 From the Top of the Water Tower. 1932.

7) Chicago in 1779 (Then Called Eschikago) Showing the Cabin of Jean Baptiste Point de Saible. N.p.: N.p, n.d.

Together, 8 engraved aquatint prints, most published in Chicago by A. Ackermann and Son Inc., ca 20th century, visible 17 3/8 x 22 1/4-in. or smaller, ALL SIGNED "R. Varin" IN PENCIL LOWER RIGHT, most NUMBERED IN PENCIL LOWER LEFT ONE OF 125 (except were noted), condition generally very good (most with some overall toning, a few with slight staining and a few occasional spots), all matted and framed (unexamined out of frame).
