A Chinese Green-Enameled 'Dragon' Porcelain Cricket Jar and Cover 
Daoguang Period (1820-1850)

清道光 綠彩龍趕珠蟋蟀罐
of squat cylindrical form with bulging sides at the waist, the top set with a flat fitted cover, the walls decorated in green enamels to show outstretched dragons in pursuit of pearls aflame, the top with a further dragon encircled by a wide band, the underside incised with a six-character Daoguang mark of the period.
Height 3 1/4 in., 8.2 cm.
