A Chinese Ming-Style Bronze Figure of Bodhisattva
明式銅觀音像
the eighteen-armed bodhisattva is cast seated in dhyanasana, draped in garlands to the chest, and wears a flowing dhoti, tied at the waist, with an elaborate headdress. The face bears a serene expression with downcast eyes and a third eye to the center of the forehead, traces of gilt details.
Height 7 1/2 in., 19 cm.
