Lot Description
A Chinese Carved and Pierced 'Archaistic' White Jade Bowl and Cover
Qianlong Mark, 18th/19th Century
清乾隆年製款 白玉鏤雕仿古夔龍紋蓋碗
supported on a straight foot, the low bowl carved in low relief with a band of dragons beneath upward pointed lappets, flanked at each side by horned beast-form handles. The conforming cover with high sides, with bands following the bowl beneath reticulated dragons encircling a flat central knob carved with chrysanthemum decoration, incised to the underside with a Qianlong mark, the pale stone with faint charcoal streaks and russet blushes.
Height 7 x diameter 7 1/2 in., 17.8 x 19 cm.
