Lot Description
Highly important Chinese twelve panel coromandel screen kangxi period, dated to the 21st year, renxu of the kangxi reign, 1682
The central field depicts a Chinese figural garden with pagoda, temples, and buildings, within a red alternating border with cartouche of still-lifes and landscapes, the reverse is carved to show a profusion of calligraphic script with a border of foliate scrolls and flowers, script reads 'respectively to congratulate' dated 1682 ; humbly presented by his disciple Zhao Jinmei to county magistrate Wen Linlang and is signed by over 400 members of the council.
