Lot Description

Large pair of Chinese elephant ivory covered baluster vases incised qianlong mark, late 19th century

Of cylindrical baluster form, cover surmounted by figural grouping under pine trees, domed cover worked in low relief to show lotus scrolls, continuing to base, mask and ring handles in reverse, and carved to show two panels of figural landscapes within lotus scrolls frame, oval incised base.
