Late 19th/Early 20th Century
comprising a horse trainer's mug identified S.C. Rientord D.S., a surrey driver's mug identified L. Furth, and a humorous livery owner's mug showing the backsides of four horses, identified G.B. Shellenberger.
each with maker's mark to underside.
lot also includes a shaving brush.

Advertisements for Shellenberger's Livery, operated by a G.B. Shellenberger on Herald Street in Tyrone, Pennsylvania, appeared in regional Pennsylvania newspapers throughout the first quarter of the twentieth century. The firm had a fleet of "cabs, wagons, sleds, sleighs, carriages, and trailers," and was available to contract on "single-driver" and "funeral work" at a rate of $2.50 per vehicle.
