Ohio, Mid-19th Century
signed T.L. Madlem / Louisville / Ohio to back.
Height 37 x width 62 x depth 20 3/4 inches. Probably the bottom of a two-piece cupboard.
A Thomas Madlem, alternatively spelled Medlam and Matlam, is listed in the 1840, 1850 and 1860 Federal census in Lake, Ohio roughly 10 miles from Louisville. He was born in Pennsylvania in 1783 and died in 1865 in Lake.
