Treichler suggests this work was likely executed in the first decade of the 20th century and was later reproduced in Chemical and Metallurgical Engineering, a monthly chemical engineering trade journal, published on May 15, 1919, vol. 20, p. 151. It was used in an advertisement for the U.S. Stoneware Co., promoting their acid-proof stoneware pottery and bricks.
