Lot Description
Louis XVI ormolu and marble mantel clock circa 1785
The circular enameled dial signed Rouviere a Paris with Arabic numerals set within a drum shaped case surmounted by a bleu turquin marble obelisk with ball finial and flanked by spires hung with chains and surmounted by eagles upon bleu turquin columnar pedestals, the shaped rectangular base with rounded ends outlined with beading and further hung with chains, raised on beaded toupie feet. NOTE: Jean Louis Rouviere, active Paris 1781-1789.
