Depicting a gentleman and lady, he wears a dark blue jacket, she wears a muslin cap and a tartan shawl, in gesso and giltwood frames, inscribed on the reverse 'Mary Jane Watson/ Lake ****/ Aged 24 years/ 1840/ Married 183*' and 'Francis Watson/ Lake ***/ Age 3*'. (2).
