Lot Description
19th Century E.A. Armstrong Mfg. Co. Etched Presentation Sword
32" blade. 39.25" overall. Bright finish single edged blade with spear tip and 21.5" off center fuller to both sides. Blade is etched floral scroll and patriotic motifs. Hilt is cast brass, with floral, patriotic, and classical relief cast motifs. Grip is shagreen with braided wire wrapped eleven times. Scabbard is steel, with cast gilt brass fittings. There is a braided chain link hooked to hangers, appears contemporary. Ricasso shows E. A. Armstrong and Chicago marks. Included with item is a broken section of double branch knuckle bow.
