Signed Showa Period Japanese Imperial Navy Officer's Kai-Gunto Katana
24.5" nagasa. 37.5" overall with tsuka and saya. Shinogi-zukuri katana blade with a single whole nakago signed with six character mei, Seki arsenal stamp under habaki, and red painted shu-mei on obverse side. Blade has a chu kissaki, ihori mune, komaru boshi, mosame hada, and togari hamon. Blade has full Imperial Japanese Kai-Gunto officer mounts with a red/brown sageo cord for a field officer. Included with item is a retail shop tag stating that it is a Showa period blade signed with mei translating to a swordsmith by the name of "Yoshinaga".
