American Civil War

.22RF Short. 3.125" ribbed octagonal barrel. SN: 19598 (mfg. ca1861). Blued finish, silver plated frame, smooth varnished rosewood two-piece grips. Single action tip up barrel revolver with seven chambered smooth round cylinder. Barrel rib roll marked in a single line SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD, MASS. with the cylinder roll marked PATENTED APR. 3, 1855 & JULY 5, 1859. Matching assembly mark A V found on the rear face of the barrel web, on the face of the cylinder and on the left side of the grip frame under the grip. Right grip is correctly numbered 19598, matching the gun. Action does not function.
