Pair of Chinese black on red cinnabar overlay lacquered vases late qing dynasty
Of baluster form, waisted neck decorated with high relief black lacquered lotus flowers and scrolling leaves, similar band to shoulder, the body worked to show scholars among a mountainous landscape, lotus scroll band to base, all over a cross-hatched red cinnabar ground.
