Liverpool creamware commemorative pitcher circa 1820
Of baluster form decorated with inscriptions "Commodore Decatur," and "Destroyed the Frigate Philadelphia 1814 Captured and Brought in the British Frigate Macedonia 1812," enclosing a portrait bust of Stephen Decatur and crossed fronds and bannerette with inscription "Free Trade and Sailors Rights" (McCauley No. 14); the reverse with a three-masted ship flying two American flags and a pennant.
