According to the genealogical record, a Sarah Louise Badger (1843-1869), married William Hubbell Calkins (1836-1905) in Painted Post, Steuben County, New York in 1865. The couple had two children, Guy Evans Calkins (1866-1931) and Sarah Louise Badger Calkins Pratt (1868-1938). It is possible that the younger Sarah Calkins presented this drawing to her brother, Guy, as a gift in 1906, perhaps commemorating a family trip to the lake.
