45 leaves, octavo. Primarily written on one side only in black ink. Includes 23 pages of fine ink and wash drawings of shells and fossils.  Bound in 19th century half red morocco gilt (some rubbing). 

The work primarily describes and depicts shells and fossils (including shark teeth) from the Branden Collection at the British Museum.  The final 7 leaves include drawings and descriptions about "shells found near Paris, many of which are the same as those dug out of the cliffs of Hordwell, but more perfect in general & of a fine glossy white colour."
