RUDI STERN (AMERICAN 1936-2006) Coffee table with neon
Designed circa 1976 for Let There Be Neon, blue, yellow, orange and red graduated rings enclosed within a black box under a glass top, partial manufacturer's label.
H: 15, W: 40, D; 40 in.
note:
Rudi Stern founded the New York City firm Let There Be Neon in 1972 with a focus on unique designs and artists commisions, and was instrumental in the proliferation of neon as an artform in the 1970s and '80s, executing commissions for such artists as Nam June Paik, Chryssa, Laurie Anderson, Jeff Koons, Robert Rauschenberg and Keith Haring (Pop Shop).
