Often credited as the first interior decorator, Dorothy Draper was known for using traditional design elements albeit grandiously. Her career saw many high profile commissions, including The Fairmount Hotel in San Francisco, from where the present lot was taken. Her work was recently the focus of a show at the Museum of the City of New York.
