Lot Description

Scrimshaw decorated powder horn American circa 1830

Depictions of ships at sea and columns enclosing the figure of a woman holding an American flag and an eagle with arrows. A bannerette above her is inscribed " Free Trade and States Rights." The woman stands on a plinth bearing the initials "W.H and E.W." within a laurel wreath. The wooden end of the horn impressed "Heller."
