8vo. Original blue-gray cloth (some light soiling, short repair to spine panel, corners slightly rubbed); pictorial dust jacket (some minor creasing and losses to extremities). Provenance: Florence Riley (signature). 

FIRST EDITION with "A-P" code, the "Book Club" issue, with the special pictorial dust jacket, and with the same binding and sheets as the first printing.  Wright's Native Son was the first book by an African American to be a Book of the Month Club selection.
