8vo. (Some toning, staining to a few leaves.) Original cloth (slight staining); publisher’s dust jacket (chipped with some losses to spine ends and panel folds not affecting text, some soiling). Provenance: B.M. Leick (stamp).
“Book Club Edition,” in later issue dust jacket priced at “$3.00” but without Bobbs-Merrill on rear panel. Rand’s first major literary success, which was adapted to film in 1949 starring Gary Cooper, and to stage by Belgian theater director Ivo van Hove in 2014.
