FIRST EDITION OF O’BRIEN’S FIRST BOOK, third printing, in FIRST ISSUE DUST JACKET, with the “$5.95” price on the front flap and the "0373" code on the rear flap. SIGNED TWICE BY O’BRIEN, once on the title-page and once on the dust jacket front flap verso. If I Die in a Combat Zone is the autobiographical memoir about O’Brien’s experiences as a soldier in the Vietnam Warm and was praised as "the single greatest piece of work to come out of Vietnam" by the Washington Star.
