Pewter pocket flask having a screw-on top, 3 x 6 1/4 in. The top half of the flask comes off to reveal the opening of the flask, which is on the end of a short neck and has a screw-on cap. The cap as well as the inside of the top cover are marked by the maker, "G & J. W. Hawksley," of Sheffield, England. An illustration of a baseball player in the batting stance is featured on one side of the flask, with "S.F. Cal." inscribed above (wear to the exterior surface commensurate with age and utilitarian function). Ca mid-to-late 19th century.
