Lot Description
[WAR OF 1812]. New York State Militia canteen. Ca early 19th century.
7 in. dia. x 3 in. dp. wooden drum canteen complete with iron bands (wear consistent with age and use; some gapping between a few staves, some staves loose; wear to iron). Obverse stenciled, "N.Y.S."; reverse with "T. ARENTS" stamped above rectangular shape crudely carved into the face. Lacks spout.
