FIRST EDITION, FIRST ISSUE, one of only 1546 copies, INCLUDING THE FIRST PUBLICATION OF "CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE" IN BOOK FORM. Edited by William Ellery Channing and Sophia Thoreau and published posthumously, A Yankee in Canada contains "Prayers" on pp.[117]-122, which was actually written by Ralph Waldo Emerson, but here misattributed to Thoreau.
