4to. 11 color-printed plates by Rackham. (Very light browning to endpapers.) Original vellum-backed cream-colored boards gilt, top edge gilt, others uncut (light soiling, corners lightly bumped, rubbing); custom white morocco-tipped slipcase.
FIRST EDITION, LIMITED ISSUE, number 23 of 575 copies, SIGNED BY RACKHAM. Some British Ballads comprises numerous traditional ballads and verses compiled by Rackham during the First World War; during this time Rackham aided the war effort by donning a uniform and helping to dig trenches in Essex.
