4to. 13 color-printed plates tipped to mounts by Rackham. (Some light toning to a few leaves.) Original white buckram gilt, top edges gilt, others uncut (front hinge starting, toning to spine and endpapers); custom white morocco-tipped slipcase. Provenance: "Zoe" (contemporary gift inscription).
LIMITED EDITION, number 479 of 1130 copies of the “Deluxe Edition.” Rackham's edition of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland was the only unsigned limited edition printed in his lifetime, as he was not in the UK at the time it went to press. Latimore & Haskell, 28-29; Riall, 77.
