IN ORIGINAL PAPER-BACKED MARBLED BOARDS, printed paper label on spine, end-papers watermarked 1796 (joints starting but cords holding, a few tiny chips, some light wear to extremities). Provenance: Tiny annotation on front board.
FIRST EDITION IN ORIGINAL BOARDS of this official manual of sword exercises for use in the Cavalry Corps, authorized by King George III. Le Marchant wrote his work after observing the superior swordsmanship of the Austrian cavalry in Flanders. ESTC T145189.
