3 volumes, 8vo (213 x 133 mm). Engraved portrait frontispiece of Johnson by J. Baker after Sir Joshua Reynolds, 2 folding facsimiles (offsetting, some spotting throughout). Contemporary tree calf (rubbing, some wear at spine ends). The second and last edition that Boswell lived to see through the press.
