Catherine Maria "Kitty" Fisher was a well-known courtesan in the mid 18th century. Renowned for both her beauty and wit she also had a reputation for her fearless horsemanship. A popular subject, she sat for portraits by Nathaniel Hone and Sir Joshua Reynolds amongst others.
