A Chinese Grey Jade Tree Trunk Form Brushpot, Bitong
18th-19th Century
清中期 灰玉松紋小筆筒
naturalistically carved as a section of the trunk of a pine tree, with the surface carved in relief with lingzhi fungus and spreading branches on a ground of whorls in imitation of the natural surface of the tree, the stone of an opaque grey tone with natural brown veins.
Height 3 3/4 in., 9.5 cm.
