Lot Description
A Tibetan/Nepalese Gilt and Red Lacquered Bronze Figure of Buddha
彩繪漆金釋迦摩尼坐像
seated on a beautiful lotus base in the bhumisparsha mudra, or earth-touching gesture, with his right hand extended towards the ground and his left hand resting in his lap in the dhyana mudra of meditation with an alms bowl cupped in his hand; portrayed dressed in a traditional style garment draped over his left shoulder with his right shoulder bare, the textiles depicted cascading in folds, all below the serene facial expression flanked by a pair of pendulous earlobes from his princely youth when he wore heavy gold earrings.
