A Chinese Black and White Jade Duck-Form Box and Cover
Late Qing Dynasty
清晚期 黑白玉鵝銜靈芝擺件
the large duck standing squarely on its two webbed feet, its head turned to the left while holding a large branch of a river plant, the body well-hollowed and surmounted with a small cover with a similarly carved duck finial, the stone of a greyish white tone with brownish black striations throughout.
Height 6 1/2 x length 8 in., 16.5 x 20.3 cm.
