cover made of thin hide and painted with imagery of the sun, crescent moon, a series of six crossed spheres, and dragonfly; two triangular drops, crafted from buffalo hide are painted in blue and red pigments; additional hawk bell embellishment
buffalo hide shield is tightly fastened within the cover; shield is brightly painted in blue, red, and yellow pigments through small tears in the hide
