WILSON, Captain A. M.  ALs, text of a telegram, 12 p., 4to, on stationery of “Headquarters Military Division of the Mississippi,” 2 May, 1865, from Morehead City, NC to Capt. Webber [indecipherable word] of Goldsboro, NC: “Col A. Beckwith directs that you send all the Nigroes[?] in your city that are not employed to this City under guard of Capt Boots.”  In March 1865, Sherman’s troops joined Schofield’s at Goldsboro and, over the course of three weeks, amassed about 100,000 men there.
