Two binders housing documents and signatures related to WWII gliders and glider pilots, a lesser known branch of Airborne Forces which participated in critical operations including D-Day. Particularly notable in the collection are signatures of men who participated in the landing at Pegasus Bridge on 6 June 1944 at Benouville, Normandy. The British Airborne Troops who captured Pegasus Bridge were the first Allied soldiers to land in France at 0015 hours on D-Day, and amongst their ranks was the first Allied soldier to be killed in action in Normandy.
