[WILD WEST SHOWS]. SARONY, Napoleon (1821-1896), photographer. CDV of William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody. New York, ca 1875.
2 1/4 x 3 1/2 in. CDV on cardstock mount (rich tonality, even toning, light horizontal crease near top edge portion of print and mount). Sarony's 680 Broadway, New York, imprint to mount recto.
Noted New York City photographer Napoleon Sarony photographed "Buffalo Bill" Cody quite often throughout the 1870s. This image presents a young Cody with a long hairstyle, wearing a "porkpie" hat and civilian attire.
