[CUSTER, George Armstrong (1839-1876)]. BRADY, Mathew, photographer. CDV of Custer as Brigadier General. New York, [8 October 1863].
2 1/8 x 3 9/16 in. CDV on cardstock mount (toning, soiling, spotting, wear to edges and corners; some adhesive/paper residue and surface loss to verso). Credited to Brady on mount recto and verso. Verso pencil inscription reads, "EB Custer Bronxville, NY."
War-date vignetted bust portrait showing Custer in profile, wearing his brigadier general's uniform. Image cataloged in Katz (K-20, p. 18).
