Vassal-Fox writes recommending a colleague (Palmerton?) to Lafayette: "He is good enough to think that ta line from me may be useful to him, & modest enough to imagine that this own exertions...are not sufficient to attract your attention to him. He is an in truth one of our most considerable public men & particularly distinguished both in & out of office." He writes about affairs in Portugal, Peru, Paris, and Belgium.
