Lot Description

Chanel Red Coat, 2004

After four decades at Chanel, Lagerfeld earned a legacy as a creative force that reinvigorated the heritage label, infusing it with postmodern playfulness while honoring its roots. Equally versed in the languages of popular culture and the craft and traditions of couture, a combination described as ‘high fashion and high camp’, Lagerfeld’s reinvention of the brand and marketing savvy created a voracious appetite among young buyers, sealing the fate of the iconic double CC logo into this century’s visual lexicon.

Red silk coat with a double pointed lapel, two large patch pockets with flaps, long sleeves with a three-button closure, and an off-center row of buttons at the front. The buttons at the front and sleeve hem look like a spider web of red and silver with enamel. The coat comes with a self-fabric belt to tie.
