FIRST EDITION of this commentary on Sacrobosco's Sphera. The attribution to Michael Scotus is uncertain, but it is accepted as belonging to his period, the early thirteenth century. The heading represents it as composed at the instance of Emperor Frederick II, to whom Michael Scotus dedicated a number of his writings on natural philosophy.
