Pencil & Crayon Drawings - 2 thoroughbred racing subjects; 3 western subjects - 2 cowboys on horseback, 1 horse-drawn stage; 1 self portrait on horseback. 11 x 8 inches or smaller, all framed. * Etching. "The Maryland Hunt." 5 3/4 x 7 3/4 inches. Rather browned. Titled, inscribed & signed by King. Framed.
Edward (Ned) King (1886-1962), cartoonist for The New York Evening Mail, New York Telegram & Rider & Driver Magazine, manager of the National Horse Show (1932-1954). These drawings were executed between 1920 & 1928 at Home Brook Farm in Rockland County, N.Y., during the horse show & race weeks at Orangeburg Fairgrounds.
