Three Chinese Canton Enamel on Copper Articles
LATE 19TH CENTURY
清晚期 廣式銅胎畫琺琅一組三件
comprising two yellow ground articles, the first a petite cachepot and the second a begonia-form box, and a shallow plate. The cachepot raised above four angular feet, having an s-curves body rising to a an expanded rim following an octagonal contour. The exterior painted with figures in quatrefoil lobed reserves. The box and cover showing a painted figural scene to the top of the slightly domed cover, the walls with dense floral sprays. The a shallow plate painted with a wide green ground band of scrollwork and flowerheads reserving a central roundel painted with a knelt supplicant before a seated official flanked by attendants.
